Goats & Prawns + Crossing the Causeway

Finally have some time to post now cos I'm sick and lost my voice and can't do anything :((((( I've been filling up my days with activity cos keeping busy is how I cope with heartbreak lol, but now I'm forced to stay at home and do nothing.... x_x

Super thankful for a great winter break filled with quality time with loved ones, including trips to Kranji farms and JB with Grace and Tiff!! JB is the new Orchard Road I swear hahahah.

After that we went to this nursery to see the plants... (?) hahahah it didn't feel like Singapore, I felt so peaceful and carefreeeee

Cute bunnies at Farmart! But there was nothing else there lol so we headed off to Yishun for prawning! 

It was my first time prawning and a super cool experience!! But the prawns' pincers are no joke man, super painful if they kiap you LOL

Cooking our prawns LIVEEE, I totally felt like a prawn murderer omg :X But they were really delicious and fresh~

In Jan, Grace, Tiff and I also went to JB together and I thought i'd just put it together in one post hahaha

No trip to JB is complete without brunch at The Replacement! Hahaha 2nd time ordering the berries french toast, I should probably try something else the next time I go hahahha. Love how I can just order anything without really looking at the price. Really wanted to try Bev C but every time I go it's closed T_T

Took xh's recommendation and went to try Chaiwalla, the drinks were not bad but super sweet! And yes! That is a metal straw! I encourage everyone to get one cos plastic straws can't be recycled and take really long to decompose. And just think of how many plastic straws we use and throw away, they are all still somewhere in a landfill... ok I sound like some environmentalist I shall stop hahaha

Tried to copy some instagrammer and take a nice pic with the sticker door but failed HAHA

Then we went to KSL mall to play the claw machines, and I won something for the first time ever!! #missionaccomplished #proudofmyself lolol

After that we went back to City Square Mall and had Arashi for dinner then walked around a bit and came back to SG. It was a super satisfying day, and I already can't wait to go back! Hahaha

Yay overcame my laziness and finished this post!! Time to go watch some Zac Efron movies~ Fell in love with him again after watching The Greatest Showman LOL

If this is love I don't want it

For awhile, I really felt that I had everything.
But I guess in life, if things seem too good to be true, then they probably are.
I'm still grateful for those brief moments of bliss though.

Bromo・Ijen・Bali

2 weeks ago, I went on a budget hiking trip to Indonesia and it was filled with amazing experiences omgg. Here are some of the pics! Didn't edit them cos I'm lazy and there's too many hahaha

After we landed in Surabaya we had to rush a bit cos the amount of traveling needed in Indo is crazy lol.

Finally reached our accoms for the night! Slept here for a few hours and woke up at 3am for our hike up Mt Penanjakan to see the sunrise at Bromo! Tbh it was a bit underwhelming and not as breathtaking as expected lol. And it was super cold!

Then we hiked down and headed to the actual Bromo crater (the thing that's spewing smoke in the pics hahaha)

We rode to the base of Bromo by ojek! It was super thrilling lol! But come to think of it, it was also super unsafe cos we didn't even wear helmets and the riders went pretty fast hahah

If you go, don't support these people offering horseback rides! I don't think the horses are treated very well...

The actual crater!! It was making super loud thundery noises omg

So there's an area with a short railing at the more crowded part, which supposedly prevents people from falling into the crater. BUT Van wanted to walk around the edge of the volcano to the area without any railing... to take a photo!!!

The drop on the right falls right into the volcano.
That, my friends, is the definition of #doitforthegram LOL but I have to admit, it's a really nice photo hahaha

Stayed a bit further behind where the path was wider cos I have no balls lol can you see the fear on my face hahaha

After that we quickly made our way back to Probolinggo to catch a bus/train to Ijen. But apparently we weren't quick enough cos we missed both the morning train and bus :( So we chilled, played cards and edited our photos hahaha while waiting for the evening train.

Our guide for Ijen picked us up at the train station and brought us to our accoms where we slept for like 2 hours before we had to wake up again to start our hike to see the blue flames and acid lake. It was a pretty crazy hike! And the thin sulfur-smelling air and crazy horde of other tourists made it worse... but we did it!

Yeah that's the blue flames in the background hahahah. Super underwhelming... but the view of the acid lake after the sun rose totally made up for it!

After we hiked down, we had breakfast and started our journey to Bali! Otw to the ferry terminal, our guide took us to see a waterfall lol

Journey to our airbnb in Bali was a total 8 hour nightmare LOL

The bus was damn dirty and stuffy, and it dropped us off in an area run by a mafia?! So no uber wanted to pick us up and we ended up having to walk to another area to get an uber because no way were we gonna pay for the exorbitant car prices quoted by the mafia or submit to their dirty business model haha. At least our airbnb was really nice and we finally had a good shower and dinner before crashing for the day.

Next day we started balling hahaha

After cramming all the typical Bali stuff (massage, drinking on the beach, shopping) in a day we had to fly back already :(
