Le Petit Prince

On Sunday my family went for out weekly Sunday lunch at The Little Prince Café. It's a small, pretty café within walking distance of City Square Mall. The theme of the café is based on the storybook The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (no idea how to pronounce his name) and most of the things in the café like the menu and wall designs are painted by the owner. Mum suggested it because she saw it in the newspaper but we were a little apprehensive about eating lunch there at first because they seemed to only serve sandwiches and snacks, but in the end we decided to try it because it was just too cute.

Some pictures of the café:

Blur but it's the only picture I took of this wall. The prince and birds are painted on :O

The staircase and pictures are painted onto the wall too!

There were many copies of The Little Prince book in different languages

The menu! All the pictures of the food were painted on with watercolour.

Moving on to the food:

I had a pot of berry tea ($4.50) which was very good (and not to mention very pretty), you could actually taste quite a strong berry taste, not like other kinds of tea where you can only smell but not taste the berry flavour.

I had an otah ciabatta sandwich ($8.90), it was very interesting because there were also pineapples in the sandwich. It tasted surprisingly good together with the otah, and very satisfying.

My mum had a mushroom quiche ($7.90) and she was gushing about how good the pastry was and how the egg taste did not overwhelm the mushroom taste, so I'm guessing it must've been good.

Even the empty plates were pretty:

So that concludes my post, have a great week ahead! One more day of holiday before it's back to school for me! To be honest, I'm actually looking forward to school haha

Post- prelim

Yesterday was an extremely enjoyable day despite the disastrous physics paper in the morning haha, don't even care anymore. I met Bel at around 3.30pm at Flock Café in Tiong Bahru and we had tea there. It was one of those small cafés with cute decor and a cosy interior. There are many of these kinds of cafés around the Tiong Bahru area to be explored, can't wait for A's to be over so I can go café-hopping!

Me on the left and Bel on the right :)

Bel had a latté ($5.50) and a lemon tart ($6) which I didn't get to try because I forgot to ask her for some and she forgot to give me... :(

I had an orange-banana smoothie ($7) and it was pretty good! I enjoyed it even though it got quite gelat after awhile :x

We borrowed an Australian magazine from the café called Frankie because Bel's friend said it was good, and indeed it was! It's an art and photography magazine and is quite interesting :) Bel was glued to it (probably why she didn't offer me any of her lemon tart)

Art on the wall

Then after eating, we decided to walk around the Tiong Bahru area to look at all the cute and quirky shops and cafés.

Saw a kitty along the way!

Found a nice white wall so we decided to camwhore haha.

Some of the sights along the way:

The famous Tiong Bahru Bakery!

A random clothes shop

And that concluded our walking around. Bel went home and I went for ballet.

After my class, I went to meet up with Gen, Su Lynn and Xin Hui at Wisma Atria for dinner.

We ate at some sushi place which I don't even know the name of haha it's like that when you're with good company, it doesn't even matter what you eat :')

After that we walked around and shopped for awhile. Then we stood outside some shop to take pictures lol. They're all in Gen's camera :( But I managed to snag this one from Gen's instagram hehe

Have a lovely weekend all!

Prelims are OVER

YAY!!! *confetti* I guess you can tell why I'm in such a celebratory mood from my post title! Not that I'm particularly confident of my performance in this exam :x

So today was my last paper, physics MCQ, and I must say, it was a complete disaster. I've never done 40 physics MCQ questions under exam conditions before (CT2 was only 30 questions) and I think I totally screwed it up... Firstly I couldn't even finish the paper and secondly I kept getting answers that weren't included in the 4 options! :O Sigh I guess I'm just glad it's over.

This morning I reached the wooden tables in school to find Banxu there. It was good talking to him after so long and now he's apparently a physics genius now! He said that he understands instead of memorising... but I do understand the concepts (or so I think), yet my grades leave much to be desired *shakes head* :(

While I was on my way home after the paper I heard this old lady playing candy crush and it was super annoying. I mean why can't people just turn the sound off when they play games, not like it will affect their score in the game anyway... Or like they could use an earpiece.

Anyway after this I'm going to go for tea with my sister, then to ballet class, then to have dinner with Gen, Su Lynn and Xin Hui! Yay today is so happening! But next week will be upsetting when I get my results back boohoo.. I'll blog about my adventures tomorrow, I even brought my camera all haha *excited*

Kick start

HELLOOOO! So this is my first blog post! Technically the major exams ('A' levels) aren't over yet, but prelims are almost over so... close enough. As you have probably guessed by now, I'm taking my 'A' levels this year in November and I thought I would start a blog to document (?) my journey through 'A' levels because I would like to remember how the suffering felt like and remind myself what I've been through haha. I think in the future I'll laugh at my blog posts... or judge myself... but whatever it is, it's good to remember these times. I also need an outlet to vent and keep myself sane through this stressful period, plus I think blogs are cool heh.

If you know me personally and are reading this, please do not judge me because I know it's different reading your friend's blog and a stranger's blog ok.

So I have a math prelim paper tomorrow and I think I should go over my notes once more, so see you soon!

xx,Sam
